Bogey Hole
These are a few of the sights along the ocean. The majority of the beaches have lifeguards on duty. When we were finally brave enough to go for a swim, we discovered the water was freezing! It's absolutely nothing like the Gulf of Mexico. We are slowly adjusting to the ocean temperature.
The Bogey Hole is a popular swimming hole in Newcastle. Its one of many, but this one is unique b/c it's carved into a cliff. Supposedly, convicts dug the swimming hole by hand for the Commandant of the Newcastle settlement. As you can tell, is right along the ocean and waves (and jellyfish supposedly) crash right into it.
